With the invention of the origami folding art, around 1700, the legend arose that the wish of those who fold a thousand cranes becomes reality. Cranes are still folded and associated with freedom, happiness and peace.
A mini urn is used to place a symbolic amount of the ashes, while the remaining ashes can be scattered or distributed among multiple people.
